We all have good days and bad days…Both in life AND in relationships…
How we deal with them is our responsibility.
I was in a situation recently where I was asked about this.
The question posed was something like “Why can’t every day be good
or be better than the ones before it?”
First of all, I think it is not practical to expect every day to be the same (better or good).
Considering the wide range of factors and emotions, along with the number of other people involved in our lives, with all their emotions, etc., the chances of the “recipe” being the same every day is slim.
Secondly, if every day was good or better, we would soon rise to a level that we would not be able to sustain. Then we would be “trying” or “doing” just to achieve that next level.
Third, I don’t believe we appreciate the good things if we don’t experience the bad. If all we ate was steak, how would we know it is better than dirt, unless we’ve tasted dirt?
So, maybe a good way to look at the ‘bad’ days is:
“Learn what I can from this one, a good one is coming up next.”
And be thankful for each of them.
